Durstone Cottage

Durstone Cottage was originally 2 semi detached farm cottages which date back over 100 years and have been lovingly restored as a large holiday cottage sleeping groups of up to 22.

The 2 properties are interconnected and rented as one, giving large groups the flexibility of cooking and eating communally or separately with 2 kitchens, 2 lounges, both with TVs, and a large communal dining room.They have 2 downstairs bedrooms and toilets, making it ideal for the less able.

Situated in a peaceful location on a working farm at the end of a mile long track, on the outskirts of the pretty village of Pencombe.

The village has a pub which serves food. Surrounded by beautiful border countryside and farm land and conveniently located just twelve miles from Hereford and thirteen miles from Malvern.

Kitchen and Dining

There are 2 separate kitchens each with:

  • Electric double oven cooker
  • Microwave
  • Fridge and large freezers
  • Dishwasher
  • Washing machine
  • Table seating for 10/11

There are large catering pots, pans and equipment to make cooking for 22 as easy as possible.

The kitchens are joined by a large dining room accessible from both kitchens with seating for 22.

Lounge

There is a lounge in each cottage, both with:

  • Colour TV
  • DVD
  • CD player
  • Open log fire

Outside

There is a mature garden with Barbecue and Sandpit, a Games room with pool table, table tennis and football table and ample parking.

Downstairs:

  • Toilet and shower
  • 1 Twin bedroom

Upstairs:

  • 2 x Double bedrooms ( 1 is super king size which can be split to 2 singles). Both with hand basin
  • 1 Twin bedroom
  • 1 Room with bunk beds (adult size bunks)
  • 1 bathroom (Bath with shower over it)

Downstairs:

  • Toilet and shower
  • Room with 1 super king bed that can be split to 2 singles and a single bed

Upstairs:

  • Double bedroom – plus 2 single beds and en-suite
  • 1 room with bunk beds – Double on the bottom, single on the top they are suitable for adults
  • 1 twin bedded room
  • Bathroom (Bath with shower over it )

Directions to Durstone Cottage

Note: Do not use ‘Sat Nav’ or ‘Multi Map’ to find us. Coming into Bromyard on the A44 from Worcester heading towards Leominster. You will pass a Mccolls shop on your left. Immediately after the shop take a left which is sign post to Pencombe/Hereford and then take the first right sign posted Pencombe.

Turn off your sat nav. Travel towards Pencombe and as you come into the village the first building is the Village Hall, turn right just before the Village Hall through the large red gateway.

Go on past the bungalow and keep going up the track through the fields. You will find the cottages on your right at the top of the hill.

Accessibility information for Durstone Cottage

The cottage is approached by a half a mile farm track and parking is on concrete outside the cottage.

Meadow View is accessed by a path with 2 steps (16cm) and 1 step (22cm) into the porch. There are 2 steps (18 and 16cm) then 1 step into the hall (22cm).

Durstone Cottage is accessed by a path and 1 step (17cm) and then a step into the porch (14cm) and one into the hall (18cm).

The large interconnecting dining room has a step of 19cm from either kitchen. In the dining room there are tables and benches with seating for 21+ people.

The shower is entered by a (22cm) step. The stairs consist of 5 steps, a landing and then 8 steps, all stair treads are 20cm.

The double rooms have 2 small steps (8cm). The bathrooms have a bath, sink and a toilet and there is a downstairs toilet and sink.
